A native of the rural Mississippi Delta, Meredith, with a near three-octave vocal range, brings a sweet Southern sophistication to her singing. Most often, people say, “She has the voice of an angel.” Meredith’s clarity and versatility are stunning as she can jump stylistically from “Proud Mary” to “Avé Maria,” with a detour to Broadway within moments.

From day-one, her mother exposed young Meredith to artists ranging from The Beatles and Billy Joel to The Pointer Sisters, Aretha Franklin and Bette Midler. That early education extended throughout Meredith’s youth, as her house was always filled with music. She discovered her love of performing as a young girl singing solos in her hometown church in Rolling Fork, Miss. Meredith realized from the beginning that her voice was a gift from God and singing is her most intimate way to worship and praise her Creator.

Meredith’s hometown is the birthplace of blues legend Muddy Waters. Along with artists such as Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton, all of whom found inspiration from the legendary blues artist, Muddy Waters became a natural favorite of Meredith’s. Therefore, the rich musical heritage of the Mississippi Delta has left its indelible mark on her musical style. Along with the strong values, encouragement and positive attitude instilled by her parents, Meredith was exposed to a world beyond her small town. Family vacations always involved learning about the ways people live and think in other parts of the country and the world. Her love of theatre began on a family trip to Toronto when at age five, she saw her first musical, Les Miserables. From that point, she was hooked. Trips to New York City continued to fuel Meredith’s love of theatre and a desire to one day live and perform in the Big Apple.

After graduating from high school, Meredith moved to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts, where she graduated magna cum laude, earning degrees in Music as well as Corporate Communications & Public Affairs. At SMU, Meredith learned the foundations of classical music training that equipped her with resilience and technical skills, allowing her musical versatility to flourish.
